Puerto Plata is located in the north cost of the Dominican Republic, and will please the Caribbean divers. Wide visibility, shallow dives, rich coral formations, a lots of sponges cover the reefs, a few wrecks here and there and as always; the barracudas.

No stress at Puerto Plata International airport with the taxis, a driver will wait for you with a sign at your name. Driving from Puerto Plata airport to your hotel takes 20 minutes, and the limousine or mini van goes directly to your hotel. If there are other divers if the car / minivan, it' s because they are all Fun Dives Travel 's divers, and all go to the same hotel as you do. This guaranties a straight transfer from the airport to your hotel.
Fun Dives Travel allows you to make the schedule by yourself: you decide which day you dive and which days you don't. You are welcome to change your schedule if you advise the dive staff 24H00 ahead, and of course, this is subject to availability.
The Puerto Plata diving center offers 2 tank dives every morning.

Arrival day: pick up at Puerto Plata airport. Then en route to your hotel, 25 minutes ahead.
Check in at your hotel. Please note that the transfer to the dive boat is not included, and is actually not provided by the dive center. However, Puerto Plata has a pretty good and cheap taxi service running 24H00 a day less than 5 US$ a trip. Your transfer to the dive center will be between 5 and 15 minutes.
Dive schedule :
8.30 am. Appointment at the dive center. Check in, try the dive gear, have a drink, and meet the staff.
Take a minute to review the diving day trips schedule with the dive center manager.
9.00 am. The boat leaves to the dive sites, the trip doesn't take more than 15 minutes. Before the dives, the dive staff makes a briefing to explain you the main attractions of the site. Drinking water and fruits are provided on board.
12.00 -12.30 pm: back to Puerto Plata. Time to fill the log books and to rinse the dive gear .
The day before the last day: remember that divers should let between 18H00 and 24H00 before their last dive and their flight. If you dive today, your flight tomorrow should not be before 1.30 pm.
Last day : check out from your hotel between 10.00 am and 11.00 am. On our side, we organize your airport transportation so that you are at Puerto Plata airport 2H00 before flying. We will come back to you 10 days before your arrival to ask your flight details.
